We try to be as transparent as possible in relation to our products and service, which is not always easy considering you never really get to see the product that is being delivered in order to inspect it as you would other purchases.

Everybody is looking for the best deal when spending their hard earned cash and that goes for both domestic and commercial customers. This does not always mean however the cheapest product. Sometimes you need to step back and think, as sometimes if it sounds too good to be true, chances are it is!!!

Although these tanks have a great life expectancy these days, it is always important to inspect your oil tank for discolouration, cracks and leaks.

Wow, what a week we have had!

I hope you are all safe and well following the visit from The Beast from the East coupled with Storm Emma. It’s hard to believe that we are into March and we have snow, not to mention sub zero temperatures, blizzards, strong winds and snow drifting (now there’s a term that was new to many)!

The kids were never so happy to see snow and get a few days off but after a few days cabin fever set in and parents and children were delighted to get back to normality this morning.

2018 here we come!

Forget the bog this Summer – Buy Oil 😉

Looking out at the rain and a mere 15 degrees displaying on the Expert Electrical sign across the road from us, it’s hard to believe that last Tuesday (19th July, we have to document these dates as they don’t come along to often) the same sign was showing 31 degrees.
As you can imagine we don’t sell a lot of Home Heating Oil in 31 degree heat but we do sell a lot of green diesel to the tractors who are busy drawing in the turf from the bogs and petrol / diesel to the car loads of families gritting their teeth as they have to make the most of the fine day and go foot turf.

You may have seen our green Lambe’s Oil lorries on the Midland roadways during your travels. As a customer recently said to us, you must be everywhere! Well…not quite everywhere, after all we are only a small family owned business, but we do try our best to service both domestic and commercial clients locally.

As you all know we are based in Tullamore, Co. Offaly since 1971, when the company was founded by Gussie Lambe. Since then the company has gone from strength to strength. We moved to our new location in Cloncollig Industrial Estate in 2014, if you haven’t already visited our filling station, call in!

Our staff are from all over the local region, (you may have seen a few pictures of the Lambe’s Oil drivers in our previous blog post), mainly Tullamore, Clonaslee, Mountlucas and Banagher, so they have great insight into the local area, which always comes in handy for deliveries.

We have seen a great drop in oil prices over the last few weeks and many of you have been availing of this – perfect timing just as the weather began to get colder!
Here at Lambe’s Oil, although we enjoy being able to pass on this opportunity to our customers, we try not to get too caught up in pricing. I know from a customer point of view that’s easier said than done.

I was in Kilbeggan the other day and I saw a great tagline on a van which read ‘Quality is not expensive … it is priceless‘. I have to say, when I read it, I thought to myself, this is so true!
